The question of roof removal
varies from roof to roof. It is our position that to get the best
roof and the needed ice and water protection, the existing roof must
be removed. Then we can do a thorough inspection of the roof deck,
pound down the roof deck nails that have backed out over time, and
(the part we like the most) nail down the roof boards or plywood the
carpenters who built the house forgot! We can then make other repairs
to the roof deck as needed.
We do reroof homes that meet these specifications:
- The first layer does not have any buckling or curling.
- The first layer was installed by a professional with straight courses and flashing details done correctly.
- The home does not have any unusual architecture or flashing details.
We do not install more than two layers of roofing in any situation.
